“The Confession” to be screened at Pan Eros Film Festival
GoAskAlex’s debut short film “The Confession” will be broadcasted at the second annual ‘Seattle Erotic Art Festival‘. The festival is organized by The Pan Eros Foundation, one of the USA’s premiere sex positive nonprofits. The festival will include five screenings between April 21-22, 2023 in Seattle, Washington.
The Seattle Erotic Arts Festival will be the second International screening of “The Confession”, announced just weeks after it’s debut at Red Dawns Intersectional Feminist Film Festival in Slovenia.
The Confession is notable in that it was written, directed, filmed, edited and cast entirely
by sex workers in British Columbia, Canada, with the film centering on a woman who has
strayed from her righteous path and asks forgiveness from the inside of a dimly lit
confessional booth. As she describes her sins, the viewer is transported into her Sapphic
fantasies before climaxing in a surprise twist ending.
“It’s a great honour to selected for this festival. My only regret is not applying for my passport renewal sooner!” said Alex of the film’s recognition, which was inspired by the writer’s own lived experiences facing homophobia – both internalized and externalized – and realizing her queer identity.
“Creating artistic media has been a passion of mine for many years now. My writing and editing skills have reached a point where I can finally take my work to the next level – my fans and followers can expect to see a lot more work in this style in the coming months and years!”
